Curriculum

At AIS , the kindergarten experiences are planned keeping in mind that the first six years in a child’s life is critical since the rate of development in these years is more rapid than any other stage of development. In addition to development of intelligence, personality and social behaviour, the children are assisted to gain confidence and assert themselves .The school works on their curiosity as it is at its maximum and children learn to explore, enquire and discover their surroundings.

We understand the language of kids and base our subjects towards easy tutoring. The ‘Thematic teaching’ and ‘play-way’ methods are aimed at customized education towards each child’s capability. The smart board integrated spacious classrooms enables various learning aids like Audio-Visual content, demonstrations, simulations, rhymes, etc. The eco-friendly atmosphere in and around the school, various theme based activities such as talk shows, conceptual rendering, frequent field trips and celebrations ensure holistic development of children by comprehensively addressing their needs for care, health, nutrition and well-being. The developmental programs work as a support to parents. Our caring mentors work closely with parents and counsel them towards more meaningful bringing-up of their child even at home. Field trips to reinforce classroom experiences are planned regularly.

Pre-primary

Toddler Program

 

The minimum age criteria at the beginning of the academic year are 1 year 10 months. The Toddler program includes playtime, rest, music and movement, stories, art activities, water play, exploration, outdoor fun and lots of love make up the toddler day with an aim towards the support of personal and social growth, language development and independence skills.

Teachers provide a setting which allows children to be creative and to explore their environment through their senses, by physically moving about and through social interaction with others.

Toilet training is an important focus of the two year old group, beginning when each child is ready with the staff and parents working together as a team.

Nursery:

The minimum age criteria at the beginning of the academic year are 2 year 10 months. The nursery program includes number, Letter recognition, reading, fun-filled activities, story time, Dance, Music, Art activities, rhyme time. They learn to communicate, play, and interact with others.

They have 1 snacks and 1 lunch break, they are given time to nap after lunch. Mother teachers adapt to student needs and energy level throughout the day , and try to save more relaxing activities for the afternoon when the students may be more tired.

Kindergarten:

Kindergarteners don't just play all day -- there's a lot to learn in this beginning grade! From numbers to letters to simple addition, there's a lot to get to know. Help your starting student work on all there is to know with the help of our Kindergarten resources. Kindergarten covers the basics like counting, letter writing, fun-filled activities, story time, Dance, Music, Art activities, rhyme time. They learn to communicate, play, and interact with others.

They have 1 snacks and 1 lunch break, and the seasons, and we have worksheets, activities, games, and more for just about all of it. If you student needs a little extra help with Kindergarten, ease them in with an activity or printable game, or for more serious studying, use a worksheet (which are still pretty fun). All of our content is made from scratch by former teachers, curriculum designers, test writers, and others with real-world education experience, so you know it matches up with what your Kindergartner needs to know.

Kindergarteners read and write all the letters of the alphabet, in both uppercase as well as lowercase letters. They can write simple sentences and identify rhyming words. The math curriculum for kindergarteners includes teaching them to sort objects based on one or more attributes, recognizing and writing numbers from 0, telling time to the nearest hour, and recognizing patterns and shapes. Kindergarteners can also do some basic addition and subtraction by using manipulatives and can recognize the different denominations of money.

While this is the time when their vocabulary expands and they form their foundations in the various subjects, it is important to identify the problems that some kindergarteners might face at this stage. Allowing enough time and resource in the kindergarten curriculum for revision will help parents and teachers gauge the ability and learning levels of the little ones.

Junior- Min.Age : 3 Yr. & 10 Months

Senior- Min.Age : 4 Yr. & 10 Months

English language and jolly phonics program is also included in the curriculum.

An environment rich in objects and experiences for thought and conversation extends each child’s language skills and builds his/her vocabulary. Daily reading of stories and poems strengthens his/her ability to empathize and to express his/her feelings and imagination, while the regular singing of songs develops their rhyming, memory, and word patterning skills. Each child is also encouraged to compose, dictate, and illustrate his/her own stories and poems on a regular basis. These creative writing projects teach them that language can be written and that what they think is important.

Methodology:

The core areas of curriculum planning are varied procedures which focus on school readiness activities. Starting with development of motor skills, the children are mentored towards more complex ones like classification, seriation, creativity and aesthetic appreciation. As each child is unique and has his/her own preferred way by which he/she learns best, a conscious effort is made to work with different learning styles. Opportunities are created for children to use life-skills like logical thinking, reasoning and problem solving. Auditory, Visual and Kinesthetic activities are incorporated to create a more inclusive class where everyone has a chance to succeed.
